Hiking

Covering 1,836 km², it is the largest conservation area in Central Europe. Hike through meadows of ferns to the highest waterfalls in Europe, which are also the fifth highest in the world. Watch as the water thunders down 380 m into the Krimmler Achental valley.

On the Kitzbühel Alps side to the north of the Obere Salzach River, you can take the new Panoramabahn lift up to the Resterkogel at 1,894 m. This gives you access to even more hiking routes - in Salzburg province and beyond.
